dear photograph
Dear Photograph,
It's been many, many years since I played in my backyard at 1901. My mommy tells me that I learned to walk early and didn't complain much. I must have been missing my daddy in this photo, as I was wearing my best sailor-dress while he was overseas in Viet Nam. It's fun to drive through the old 'hood in Minneapolis now, tell some of the childhood memories to whomever is riding along, and reminisce that the beginnings of who I am today... all started here.
Love,
Me

dear photograph
Dear Photograph,
Theirs was a love that lasted the test of time. Forty-one years at 201 and 65 years of marriage. This grand-daughter has many fond memories of ice cream sundaes on Saturday night and waffles on Sunday morning; listening to the ballgame in the porch and rolling down the hill...
I miss you.
