Music of the Season | Day 25 Christmas Day

Go tell it on the mountain...  in the streets, at the mall, to a friend or stranger...  just Go & tell....

Jesus Christ is born!

From our house to yours...

Music of the Season | Day 24

Christmas eve...  all the world's been praying...  a promise for those who believe.

Music of the Season | Day 23

What's on your Christmas List this year?  Does it consist of only material things or might you have something else on it as I do?  Peace.

The words of Amy's Christmas list couldn't ring more true again than now. Too much hurt in the world.  May you do something small to bring a smile or joy to someone's life this Christmas.  The pebble tossed in the pond can make a difference.

I'm all grown up now and still need help somehow.

Music of the Season | Day 22

That's Christmas to Me...

Mom & Dad share a kiss... under the mistletoe.
Hanging all the stockings by the Christmas tree.

Music of the Season | Day 21

Where's the line to see Jesus?

Remembering the reason for the season...  slowing down when you're at the mall to notice more than the long line to see Santa.

Music of the Season | Day 20

Another oldie but goodie... Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass "My Favorite Things". I guess I'm showing my age a little when I post some of these that have stood the test of time. They still make me tap my toe or sing along, and always will!

Enjoy a little trumpet with your holiday!

Music of the Season | Day 19

A childhood favorite...  anyone else remember Snoopy v. The Red Baron?

Music of the Season | Day 18

Another beautiful rendition of O Come, Emmanuel by the PianoGuys.

O Come, Emmanuel

Oh come thou day-spring come and cheer
Our spirits by thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight

We need a little peace on Earth right now, Lord; bring Your calm presence to us this day and in the days ahead.  Amen.

Music of the Season | Day 17

The sun came out in Minnesota today!  Must surely be time for a little Beach Boys' Christmas!

This is the best video I could find to go with the recording.  I guess it's fitting in that sense too, since it's a classic and in black & white television!  Love me some Beach Boys sound.  Always have, always will.  Reminds me of my childhood and an era that had some awesome music.

Way up North where the air gets cold...

Love the striped shorts, haircuts & khakis!

Music of the Season | Day 16

A few musical performances by my very own boys (and a hundred or so back-up singers).  {grin}

More to come when I can properly add the titles & information to each song.  For now, enjoy one with the combined Freshmen Madrigals, Varsity Madrigals & Chamber singers:

And the 8th Grade Plymouth Middle School Choir (183 members strong) with Oliver on the first solo.

Please forgive the poor quality video - the lighting is not kind to phone video and I couldn't find my "real" camera.  If you close your eyes, however, you will hear their joyous voices in song!  They did a fabulous job last night!

Will update more later when time permits.  Thanks for sharing in my holiday joy!  Three more concerts this week and I hope to have better quality videos to share.

More videos from Winter Concert can be found here.

Music of the Season | Day 15

Angels... sung by some very talented men from Minnesota. I present to you this Monday morning, 10 days before Christmas, Home Free.

Today is a very busy day of music in the Foreman household too! I will be singing with the GMI Choir at KARE11 for the Toys for Tots campaign. Henry will be singing with Varsity Madrigals, as well as running down the school hallway (after a quick change of attire) to play trumpet in his first ever jazz ensemble performance. Momma will be torn at that point because the concert continues in the auditorium with Oliver singing with his 8th grade choir (he has a solo) and also with Sola Voce (auditioned small group). So much music packed into one evening - giddy with excitement and how to split myself into thirds so I can take it all in!  Hopefully some personal videos of "Music of the Season" will be forthcoming!

Music of the Season | Day 14

Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
When we come.

One of my favorite things to do on Sunday morning is listen to acoustic sunrise on the local radio station. So it is fitting today that I share another acoustic favorite by Pentatonix. There's just something magical about the human voice.

Music of the Season | Day 13

This one makes me smile.  I've never heard nor seen the song/video before and it's too adorable not to share.  May it be contagious and you spread a little Christmas joy, believing in miracles, Santa and all that is precious about this season of giving!

Shake up the happiness...

Music of the Season | Day 12

Who doesn't love a little Martin & Sinatra?  I know that I do!  And who wouldn't love a marshmallow world!?  Brought to you from the year I was born (complete with what television looked like in its early days), back in 1967, enjoy a little song by two of the greatest!

On what would have been Frank's 99th birthday...  may this remind you of good times and a special someone who touched your heart once upon a time!  Happy Birthday Frank!  Life's too short to take yourselves seriously...  grab an eggnog and dance a little.

And Happy Birthday Mister Palony!

Music of the Season | Day 11

A classic with a twist and a little added excitement by the Piano Guys!  Love the video and the way it shows his passion for playing. Take a moment out of your day and enjoy some music of the season. I do hope you've been enjoying my shares. Seems I have many more favorites than there are days leading up to Christmas, however!

Music of the Season | Day 10

One of my favorites as a kid...  conjured up all kinds of images in my head!  Our first indication or hint at the reality?

Recorded by Jimmy Boyd at 13 years of age, the song "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" for Columbia Records became a hit, selling over two and a half million records in its first week's release and Boyd's name became known internationally. Columbia Records executives were baffled at the song's popularity. Boyd's record went to number one on the charts again the following year at Christmas, and continues to sell as a Christmas song. It has reportedly sold more than sixty million copies since its initial release.

Music of the Season | Day 9

A little jingle bells...  brought to you by the jolly cashiers at Edeka, the largest German supermarket corporation, founded in 1914 in Berlin.

Music of the Season | Day 8

For Oliver.  He loves this newest rendition of Do They Know It's Christmas.

Music of the Season | Day 7

Another beautiful rendition of Mary, Did You Know...  this time by Pentatonix on their 2014 Christmas release.  The video has been making the rounds on the internet since they released it back in November, but in case you haven't seen it yet....    enjoy!

Will calm the storm with His hand...

This one has always been a favorite of mine ever since JP sang it in church.
