Whirlwind Weekend

Our weekend started out with a bang.  Literally.  The thunder clapped in the sky and the rain & hail came pouring down...  just in time to cancel Henry's playoff game on Friday night.  Reschedule to Saturday at 11:00 am, the best laid plans to attend the Osseo Band Festival were pushed aside.

The Rays fought hard on the ball field but ultimately lost by 2 runs to the Twins.  Henry was visibly upset, but with his chin held high knew that they played a great season.  They came together as a group of boys who never played ball before to make it more than halfway through the playoffs together.  Way to go Rays!

Attended my nephew's graduation party on Saturday night.  Visited with family I hadn't seen in a while, listened to Section 30 for a few songs before the skies turned dark and opened up with storms again.  Escaped with only a small branch taken out of the front tree in that storm.

Sunday was spent with our friends from Trondheim.  We picked them all up early from the hotel and went to church in the morning.  Afterward, we returned home to bar-b-q on the patio and lounge in the sunshine & lay around on earth's carpet.  JP made some scrumptious pork chops on the grill, married with a Mediterranean salad.  Raspberry pie for dessert ~ yum!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to do nothing together.
